As many vehicle owners may know, each state in our country has their own specialized window tint film laws and regulations, depending on what type of vehicle you drive. Here at Chicago Auto Pros, we kept these laws and regulations in mind when creating our packages, especially those that directly impact drivers of Illinois. For your peace of mind, we have broken these down below:
In terms of reflection, windshields and windows that feature any level of window tinting must be non-reflective. We encourage all drivers to connect with their individual community lawmakers to determine what is reflective, as the state of Illinois does not necessarily define the specifics around what this means.

As it relates to window tint darkness, the state of Illinois requires all windshield window tint film strips to be no larger than 6 inches down from the top of the glass, whereas darkness for Sedans, SUVs and minivans varies. On a Sedan, your driver and passenger front and back windows must allow at least 35% of light in, along with the rear window. On an SUV, minivan, or larger vehicle, the driver and passenger side front windows must allow at least 50% of light in, whereas all back and rear windows can be any shade you desire.
